The Grade R
Program strives to achieve the following:
1. Train
Grade R teachers to be better equipped and skilled to teach Grade R children
so that these children will have the desired level of school readiness in
the year they go to school for the first time.
2. Helping
the teachers with continual assessment through the Grade R year to monitor
the development of their children as well as their level of school readiness
as the Grade R year progress.
The first of these Grade R
courses was presented in Feb 2011 with great success and the teachers were
very appreciative of the content as well as the course material they have
received. It is especially in the assessment area where a huge need is being
met and the teachers are being able to be a lot more focused and goal
orientated in the work.
