Margate Good News Crèche and Community Centre is located in a middle/lower class
suburb in Margate, approximately 140km down the South coast from Durban.
History of the centre
The centre was established by the COP Trust in April 2008 to provide the local
community with a crèche/preschool service. The COP Trust funded the conversion
of an existing church building into a crèche facility and the building of an
attached accommodation for crèche teacher and caretaker.
Roles of the centre in the community
*
In addition to being used as a crèche and preschool, the Margate Good News
Centre provides the community with other benefits, click on a link below for
further details of our work in the lower South Coast. You are welcome to visit
the Good News Centre to see our current program in action.
The COP Trust in Margate is always seeking to support local community projects
with skills and training such as food gardening, first aid, health & safety
etc. We also take donations to pass onto needy projects. Any non-perishable
foodstuffs, clothing, furniture, DIY materials etc. are always gratefully
received and we endeavour to keep any donors informed as to how their donations
are used.
