The Moves for
Life prgramme consist of two sub programs. They are:
1. The
miniChess programme. This programme will be implemented as part of a Grade R
teacher upliftment programme. This programme is unique in the sense that it
uses chess to train math concepts and basic life skills to the young learner
in a playful, fun and easy way.
2. The
masterMoves programme. This programme will establish chess as an extramural
activity at different community centres and community members can
participate in chess and receive chess teaching. A dedicated Moves for
Life trainer will be deployed on a pre-arranged schedule at centres.
Learners are encouraged to take part in organised tournaments and further
life skill development takes place through chess.
The first program has been
implemented at the Aphiwe community Centre in Tembisa
